Meet t@b grrrl:

T@b grrrl is a fierce, femme-powered punk band that emerged from the Jersey suburbs in 2022, fueled by the raw vision of frontwoman Gianna "Gigi" Barwald. What began as a riot grrrl-inspired project with nods to ’90s icons like Bikini Kill has evolved into a fresh and fiery force in the NYC rock scene. With a sound that bridges generations from the gritty energy of Bratmobile to the modern edge of Pretty Sick, t@b grrrl is carving out space for bold, unapologetic expression. Now joined by Nico Mac (Bad Static), Amy Harris, and Malachi, Gigi continues to channel their rebellious spirit on stages across the city.
This month, The MIC Mag is celebrating t@b grrrl as our Musicians of the Month!

We just finished our first-ever tour, which was 2.5 weeks around the Northeast and Canada with our sister band Bad Static who we got married to at our honeymoon tour kick-off show!
We’re also going to play Loud Women Fest and do a mini “t@b static” tour in The UK and Europe this September, which will also be a first for the project:)"
What makes t@b grrrl stand out?
"T@b was recently called one of the vanguards of the new wave of riot grrrl. We’re bringing intersectionality to the forefront and opening up the space to people who feel they weren’t represented in the past movement. We’ll call grrrls to the front, but that includes the girls, gays, and theys."

What is t@b grrrl most known for?
"being apart of the current riot grrrl scene !"
What has t@b grrrl been working on?
"i love lucy"
"gigi wrote this song by herself on guitar in one day. It used to be slower than what we now know and love. It's about a grrrl who didn't know how to fucking communicate!"

"we're ur fav neighborhood riot grrrl band, remember there's no "i" in grrrl but there is a"rrrawr" <3" - t@b grrrl
