Meet The Nightly Noodle:
Erick Roman, also known as The Nightly Noodle, is a New Jersey-based guitarist and producer crafting smooth, groovy, and deeply melodic instrumental tracks. His music draws clear inspiration from artists like John Mayer, but Erick's style is uniquely his own, blending soulful guitar jams with mellow grooves that stand out. With one album and three EPs under his belt, he approaches his work with a love for instrumental storytelling, using his guitar to "sing" in place of traditional vocals. Erick’s music may not follow traditional radio-friendly formulas, but each track is filled with passion and artistry, designed to make listeners get lost in the moment. His commitment to authentic, heartfelt melodies have made his music a relaxing escape for fans of laid-back, guitar-driven sounds.
This November, The MIC Mag is celebrating The Nightly Noodle as our Musician of the Month!

"Probably being passionate about playing guitar."
What has The Nightly Noodle been working on?
Vagabond Dreams Deluxe Edition
"I think it's cool because it contains 4 different versions of the single, Vagabond Dreams, which I dropped back in July. It started with the idea of releasing a slowed-down version of Vagabond Dreams. It was based on a TikTok trend I kept seeing... slowed down songs. I figured, what the heck, why not try it out? Honestly, I think the slowed-down version is so beautifully haunting that it feels like a completely different song. The slowed-down guitars get me every time.
After I finished that track, I got the idea to do a sped-up version, which feels like it belongs on a Mario Kart soundtrack. One thing just kind of led to another with this release, and eventually, it turned into a whole EP. I also included the original mix and a demo version of Vagabond Dreams. I don't know, but I think it’s cool, and not a lot of people do weird stuff like this. I don’t want to be your traditional artist following blueprints. I forge my own path."

"I'm just a dude with a guitar who likes to have fun. I think that's what's most important to me in my music journey. Having fun. If I'm not having fun, then I'll know it's time to take a step back. Luckily, it's been 34 years of non-stop fun!" - The Nightly Noodle

Do you have any advice for other aspiring independent musicians?:
"Some advice I'd give to aspiring independent musicians is to just be yourself. Stop trying to sound like your favorite band, stop trying to dress like your favorite artist. Be authentic to yourself.. and double down on it. No one will be able to replicate you because of how unique we all are. Once you accept that and lean into it, it's game over. Doors open and opportunities come flying it."
