Liam Naughton is an Irish singer/songwriter based in Perth, WA. Liam’s wake-up moment came after a co-worker played through Neil Young's ‘Harvest Moon’ one day in 2003. With life getting in the way and the usual ups and downs, Liam has since released Cornerstone EP (2013), Leaning In LP (2018), and Cut On a Cut EP (2020). After a lull in creative output and tired of developing tracks with producers, Liam got his home studio together in 2024, took baby steps in learning basic music theory, how to record, how to use MIDI keyboards, and got acquainted with ProTools. This new pathway is now brought to fruition with a release-packed 2026, beginning with the first single, “I Want To Go Out Tonight,” released on February 13th.

In the words of Liam Naughton: "'I Want To Go Out Tonight' is about a woman in a breakup situation. I wrote this song around the time my daughter was listening to Prince nonstop. She loves his track 'If I Was Your Girlfriend'. I actually misinterpreted its meaning, and I do believe that's where the seed was born for 'I Want To Go Out Tonight.'"
LONG STORY SHORT: Irish-born, Perth-based singer-songwriter Liam Naughton & The Educators kick off a packed year of releases with “I Want To Go Out Tonight.” It’s a high-energy, guitar-driven track, written from a woman's perspective. The song was partially recorded in his home studio following a COVID-19 forced return to Perth. The record weaves together a wide range of themes and emotions, creating a cohesive narrative marking an emotional and uplifting start to Naughton's 2026.
