Roe O'Brien, also known as Roe Knows Best, is a singer-songwriter located in NJ who is known for genre mixing. She was diligent in learning piano, music theory, and sang in many choirs that took her around the world. As she grew older, she found her love for Good Charlotte, their self-titled album, and Green Day’s American Idiot. These bands helped her discover her pop-punk dreams and sparked her interest in songwriting, leading her to teach herself the guitar at age 14. Over the years, Roe has released two EPs, Muscle Memory and Northbound, as well as her latest single, "Capture the Flag."
Max Rauch, from MAUCH, is a local NJ artist, owner of Domestic Bliss Recording Studio located in West Orange, NJ, and co-pilot of Pizza Bagel Records alongside NJ singer-songwriter John Cozz. Max is best known as a co-founding member, singer, and rhythm guitarist for NJ band, LKFFCT. For his latest release, he collaborates with Roe for their EP, Weekend at Mauchies…Vol. 1.

In the words of Roe O’Brien: "Writing these songs with Max was some of the most fun I've ever had in my life. During the songwriting and recording process, every morning we came in with a clean slate and allowed whatever was manifesting, manifest. There were no rules or desire to adhere to any particular genre, we were just motivated to write good songs. Usually, Max would start playing a guitar riff, and I would immediately catch a vibe and rhythm and start to build lyrical ideas based on that. The songs you hear on this EP are the finished product of that type of songwriting/recording process, and we couldn't be prouder of what we were able to create!"
LONG STORY SHORT: Roe Knows Best’s and MAUCH’s EP, Weekend at Mauchies… Vol. 1, is a fun and witty track that takes you through the experiences of ghost hunting, meeting aliens, escaping sharks, and gambling. The strongest track, “To Be Loved,” hits you with raw emotion in the lyricism, with lines such as “soon enough you’ll break down” and “When all you wanted was acceptance, to be loved” touching upon gambling addiction and how it hurts not only you, but the people around you.
