Meet Penny Margaux:
Penny Margaux is an artist in motion, constantly evolving, always searching for new ways to turn emotion into melody. Originally from Toms River, New Jersey, and now based in Louisville, Kentucky, the singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist has spent the past several years crafting a sound that bridges heartfelt pop with the soulful warmth of R&B and dance. After releasing her debut single “415” in 2019 and her full-length album Please Enjoy My Growing Pains in 2021, Penny returned with TWENTYTWO, a defining moment that marked her creative awakening. Now performing under a new name, Penny Margaux enters her most confident era yet, weaving honesty, passion, and vulnerability into songs like her latest single “You,” a glowing ode to love and human connection.

"I’d like to think the two things that make me unique as an artist are my authenticity and my vocal tone.
First off, I believe in being genuine and sharing my experiences and feelings on my sleeve is what creates a strong bond. My goal isn’t to have a million fans and a billion streams. It’s to have a tight-knit, strong, and supportive community that feels like a family. I don’t pretend to be perfect and polished. As a music lover/fan of many different artists, I appreciate when an artist shows up as they are and is authentic, so I pride myself on doing the same. When it comes to style, I think that my vocal tone is unique in that I have worked very hard to be able to adapt and shape my voice to different sounds and styles. Whether it’s powerful belts, complicated and complex runs, or quiet, softer, sultry vocals, I have worked hard to have that vocal agility and continue to work every day in broadening that agility."

Do you have any advice for other aspiring independent musicians?:
"'Feel the fear, and do it anyways.' I encourage any artist or creative to ruminate over this advice. Fear is inevitable. Whether you go for it or not, you will face hardships. But the ones you look up to have had the same fears as you; they just felt it and continued anyway. Be scared, feel the fear, accept it, welcome it, befriend it… and then do it anyway!"
